How to use the hedge calculator
Enter the original odds, original stake, and current odds for the opposite outcome. The hedge stake equals the original gross payout divided by the hedge decimal odds. Both stakes are included in the displayed net result.
Hedge stake = original stake × original decimal odds / hedge decimal oddsA worked example
An original $100 stake at +300 has a $400 gross payout. At −110 on the other side, the equalizing hedge is about $209.52. The net result is about $90.48 in either outcome, before fees and rounding.
What the numbers can tell you
Use this only when the hedge covers the exact opposite outcome with compatible settlement rules. The original stake is already committed; the hedge stake is additional capital. A negative result means this hedge equalizes a loss.
Frequently asked questions
Can hedging guarantee a profit?
No. The original and current prices may imply an equalized loss. Even a positive theoretical result depends on execution, market coverage, and settlement.
Can I hedge the final leg of a parlay?
You can model the remaining binary outcome using an equivalent original decimal payout ratio. A draw, push, void, or different settlement rule can make a simple two-outcome model inappropriate.
