How to use the odds calculator
Choose your input format, enter the odds, and add a stake. Decimal odds include the returned stake. Positive American odds quote profit on $100; negative American odds quote the amount required to profit $100. A contract price assumes a $1 winning settlement.
Positive American: decimal = 1 + odds / 100. Negative American: decimal = 1 + 100 / |odds|. Probability = 1 / decimal.A worked example
+150 American odds equal 2.50 decimal odds and 3/2 fractional odds. They imply a 40% break-even probability. A $100 winning stake returns $250 total: $150 profit plus the original $100.
What the numbers can tell you
A contract priced at 40¢ has the same gross payout ratio as 2.50 decimal odds when it settles at $1. Fees, minimum contract sizes, and settlement rules can change the realized result.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between payout and profit?
Total return includes your original stake. Net profit subtracts that stake. At 2.50 decimal odds, a $100 winning stake has $250 total return and $150 profit.
Why are American odds between −100 and +100 invalid?
Standard American odds use magnitudes of at least 100. Use decimal, fractional, or contract-price format for other representations. Both −100 and +100 represent even money.
